On July 20, the 11th China Environment Award Ceremony was held in Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Wang Dongming, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, Shen Yueyue, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and Zhao Yingmin, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment attended the ceremony and presented awards to the winners.
A total of 22 award-winning units (individuals) were selected for the 11th China Environment Award in five aspects of urban environment, environmental management, enterprise environmental protection, ecological protection, and environmental publicity and education. Among them, 4 units (individuals), including Chun’an County People’s Government, Hao Jiming, president of the Academy of Environmental Science and Engineering of Tsinghua University, and State Grid Corporation of China, won the China Environment Award, 18 units (individuals) including the Rongcheng Municipal People’s Government have won the China Environmental Excellence Award.
The China Environment Award was established in 2000, and the organizing committee of the China Environment Award was established, consisting of 11 ministries and units, including the National People’s Congress Committee on Environment and Resource Protection, the National Committee of the CPPCC Committee on Population, Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the National Radio and Television Administration, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the All-China Women’s Federation, and the China Environmental Protection Foundation.
Since its establishment in 2000, the China Environment Award has gone through 23 years, and has commended 237 exemplary organization and individuals with outstanding deeds, a sense of the times and broad representation in China’s ecological environment protection. The theme of the 11th China Environment Award is “harmonious coexistence of human and nature”, which aims to thoroughly implement the decisions and arrangements of the CPC Central Committee, establish models, promote advanced, and lead the fashion, help to continue to deepen the battle against pollution, accelerate the green and low-carbon transformation of the development mode, strive to improve the diversity, stability, and sustainability of the Ecosystem diversity, actively and steadily promote carbon peak and carbon neutrality, and firmly hold the bottom line of the security of beautiful China, Create a good social atmosphere that advocates ecological civilization.
