The Ministry of Ecology and Environment released the results of the National Air Quality Forecast Conference for the second half of June

On June 15, 2023, China Environmental Monitoring Station, together with the Central Meteorological Station, the National Air Pollution Prevention and Control United Center, the Northeast, South China, Southwest, Northwest and Yangtze River Delta Regional Air Quality Forecast Center and Beijing Ecological Environment Monitoring Center, will hold a national air quality forecast conference in the second half of June (16-30).

In the second half of June, the air quality in most parts of the country is mainly from good to mild pollution, and local areas may experience moderate or above pollution. Among them, moderate ozone pollution may occur in the central and southern parts of the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region, western Shandong, central and northern Henan, parts of the Yangtze River Delta, central and southern parts of the Fenwei Plain, most of Liaoning, central and western Jilin, parts of the Chengdu Chongqing region, and some cities in the eastern part of the northwest region; Affected by sandstorm weather, some cities in southern and eastern Xinjiang may experience severe pollution.

Beijing Tianjin Hebei and surrounding areas: In the second half of June, the air quality in most areas is mainly from good to mild pollution, and there may be moderate pollution during some local periods. Among them, from 16th to 17th, there was a wide range of continuous high temperature in the region. The northern, western, Shandong Peninsula and southern Henan were mainly fine, and the local area might be slightly polluted. Beijing, Tianjin, central and southern Hebei, western Shandong and central and northern Henan were mainly light to moderate pollution; On the 18th and 21st, the high temperature situation eased, with most of the region showing good results, while some areas in the central region were mainly polluted from good to mild; On the 22nd to 24th, most of the region heated up again, with unfavorable diffusion conditions. The northern part of the region was excellent, while the southern part of Henan and northern part of Hebei were mainly affected by mild to mild pollution. Other areas may experience mild or above pollution; From the 25th to the 30th, the high temperature situation eased, and the diffusion conditions were average. Most of the area was mainly polluted from good to mild. The primary pollutants are ozone, PM10, or PM2.5.

Beijing: In the second half of June, the air quality is mainly excellent, and moderate pollution may occur during some periods. Among them, from 16th to 18th, there may be a moderate process of ozone pollution; From 19th to 24th, the diffusion conditions are relatively favorable, and the air quality is mainly excellent; On the 25th to 28th, the temperature is relatively high and the diffusion conditions are average, which may lead to the process of ozone pollution; From 29th to 30th, the diffusion conditions improved and the air quality was excellent. The primary pollutant is ozone.

The Yangtze River Delta region: In the second half of June, most of the air quality in the region is mainly from good to mild pollution, and there may be moderate pollution during some local periods. On the 16th, the overall pollution in the region was mainly from good to mild, with moderate pollution likely to occur in the central and northern regions; From 17th to 20th, the overall quality of the region was excellent, with mild pollution in the central and northern regions; From 21st to 30th, the overall pollution in the region was mainly from good to mild, with moderate pollution possibly occurring locally from 21st to 22nd. The primary pollutant is ozone.

The border between Jiangsu, Anhui, Shandong, and Henan: In the second half of June, the air quality in most areas is mainly from good to mild pollution, and moderate pollution may occur in some local periods. Among them, from 16th to 17th, the diffusion conditions were poor, and the overall pollution in the region was mainly light to moderate; From 18th to 21st, the overall pollution in the region is mainly from good to mild, and some cities in Shandong and Anhui may experience moderate pollution from 20th to 21st; From the 22nd to the 30th, the overall area was lightly to moderately polluted due to the impact of the low-pressure trough. The primary pollutant is ozone.

Fenwei Plain: In the second half of June, the air quality in most areas is mainly mild pollution. Among them, on the 16th, 19th to 23rd, and 26th to 28th, the temperature was relatively high and solar radiation was strong, which was conducive to ozone generation. Some cities in the central and southern regions may experience moderate ozone pollution; On the 17th to 18th, 24th to 25th, and 29th to 30th, the cloud cover in most areas increased, accompanied by precipitation processes, and ozone pollution was alleviated. The air quality was mainly from good to mild pollution. The primary pollutant is ozone.

Northeast region: In the second half of June, most of the air quality in the region is mainly excellent, and local areas may experience mild to moderate pollution. Among them, from the 15th to the 18th, due to the influence of strong warm ridges, the temperature is relatively high, which is conducive to ozone generation. The air quality in most parts of Liaoning, central and western Jilin, and Tongliao in Inner Mongolia is mainly light to moderate pollution, while in the southern part of Heilongjiang and eastern part of Jilin, it is mainly good to light pollution; On the 19th, the air pollution in the eastern part of Heilongjiang, most of Jilin, and most of Liaoning was mainly from good to mild; From 20th to 23rd, due to the influence of cold air processes, the diffusion conditions are good, and most of the air quality in the region is mainly excellent; On the 24th to 27th, temperatures rebounded, with mild pollution mainly occurring in the central and western regions of Jilin and most of Liaoning, and moderate pollution may occur locally; From the 28th to the 30th, the air quality in most parts of the region was excellent. The primary pollutant is ozone.

South China region: In the second half of June, the air quality in the region is mainly excellent, and mild pollution may occur locally. Among them, from 21st to 23rd, most of Hubei and northern Hunan were moderately to slightly polluted; On the 24th, most of Hubei, northern Hunan, and the Pearl River Delta were moderately polluted; On the 25th, the Pearl River Delta was moderately polluted. The primary pollutant is ozone.

Southwest region: In the second half of June, the air quality in the region is mainly excellent, and local areas may experience mild to moderate pollution. Among them, most cities in Guizhou and Yunnan mainly focus on excellence; Tibet may experience mild ozone pollution before or after the 17th to 21st and 26th to 28th; The Chengdu Chongqing region may experience mild ozone pollution before and after the 18th to 20th, 22nd to 23rd, and 25th to 28th, and some cities may experience moderate pollution in the later stage. The primary pollutant is ozone.

Northwest region: In the second half of June, the air quality in most parts of the region is mainly good, and mild pollution may occur in some areas. Among them, the temperature in most areas from 20th to 23rd and 27th to 28th is relatively high, which may result in mild ozone pollution, while some cities in the east may experience moderate ozone pollution; Affected by sandstorm weather, the air quality in the southern Xinjiang region and the eastern Xinjiang region was mainly light to moderate pollution from 16th to 18th, and some cities may experience severe pollution. The primary pollutant is ozone or PM10.
